Princess dragon colouring and book for Sant Jordi
The legend of Sant Jordi (or Saint George) tells of a terrifying dragon that frightened a small village in Catalonia. The villagers decided to offer a person each day to calm it down.
One day, the king’s daughter was chosen to be sacrificed to the dragon. But a young knight named Jordi (or George) came to her rescue. He fought the dragon and ultimately succeeded in killing it with his lance. Inscription "Sant Jordi" with a letter O made of rose petals on the free drawing to colour.
When the dragon's blood touched the ground, a rose appeared. Jordi gave this rose to the princess, and since then, it has become a tradition to give roses in memory of this event. Here is a colouring page depicting a princess reading a book (often given on Sant Jordi or Saint George's Day) with a dragon.
