Colouring Page of the Spanish Coat of Arms – Customisable and Free
This colouring page depicts the official coat of arms of Spain, a national symbol that also appears on the Spanish flag. This richly detailed coat of arms is composed of several historical and symbolic elements:
On the left, the castle represents the Kingdom of Castile, and on the right, the lion symbolises the Kingdom of León.
At the bottom left, the chains represent the Kingdom of Navarre, and at the bottom right, the pomegranate symbolises the Kingdom of Granada.
At the centre of the coat of arms, a shield adorned with three fleur-de-lis represents the Bourbon dynasty.
Above the coat of arms, a large royal crown symbolises the Spanish monarchy.
On either side, two columns topped with crowns and bearing the inscriptions "PLUS" and "ULTRA" refer to the Columns of Hercules, symbolising the former Spanish empire and its expansion beyond the known world.
This colouring activity provides an excellent opportunity for children to discover and learn about Spain's heritage and history while having fun colouring this national symbol. The child's name can be added to the bottom of the page, making this activity even more personalised and enjoyable.
