Lion - Chinese New Year (0 colouring page)

Chinese New Year, also known as "Lunar New Year," "the passing of the year," or "Spring Festival," corresponds to the very first day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar. The Spring Festival marks the beginning of the New Year festivities, which last for about two weeks and conclude with the Lantern Festival. The date of Chinese New Year varies from year to year for Westerners but always falls between 21 January and 20 February. It is the most popular and significant traditional festival in Chinese culture. In Chinese astrology, each lunar new year is marked by a new sign represented by an animal, of which there are 12: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
